The McKay Scholarship for Students with Disabilities

The Florida Department of Education offers the McKay Scholarship to students whose educational needs are not met through the public school they currently attend.  By matching the student’s needs with the best possible educational setting, each student will learn to the utmost of their abilities  The McKay Scholarship offers thousands of scholarships yearly to students with documented disabilities, from minor speech impediments to life-threatening diseases.  If your child has or is eligible for an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or a 504 Accommodation Plan, he or she is likewise eligible for the McKay Scholarship.  Last year alone, the McKay Scholarship aided over 26,000 Florida students in finding their perfect Orlando private school setting.

If your child has attended a Florida public school during the October and February FTE weeks; or if your child was enrolled and reported for FTE funding by the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind; or if your child received Specialized Instructional Services (SIS) during the previous school year and has a current IEP; or if your child is a dependent of a member of the United States Armed Forces who transferred to Florida within the last school year and the parent sends record of notification at least 60 days before the first scholarship payment, then he or she is eligible for the McKay Scholarship.
